moon leaf palm holds a lantern
i held a star today
my heart i called it
from deep within a rising wave
i watched glitter drain away
to reveal a glowing bravery.
of living, understanding the depth
and indescribable romance
and utter joy of being with another
person whom exists with you
laughs sings talks and listens
to your heartpour
like rain
i am by you gently like a friend
falling against your shoulders
and letting you lean on mine
without stress.
today i held myself
not completely, not yet
i held myself through holding others,
through letting myself be held by beauty
in the form of connection.
a star,
a wind,
a sea,
a sun,
a warmth,
a light,
a smile,
a flower,
whichever whatever i may call it,
my heart blooms like leaves do when you realise
‘i can hear the whisper of my heart’.
